:S

So the Canon Elura 90 I have is dead. :S  Won't see tapes, and destoyed the last tape I used. :(

Greeeeat....  remind me to ALWAYS pick up a warranty with one.  :S

So now I'm in the market for a new one.  I will prob. go with minidv, unless I can find something that plays miniDV tapes.  I'd like to go HD, but the problem I wonder is how durable they are really?  Can they take bumps, hits, some smacks?  Or are they too fragile?  :S

And I am also pondering getting one with a shotgun mic.  *sighs*  oy vey.  two weeks.

For those that don't know, I love using video cameras to record stuff.  I'm pretty good at it, though I could be a LOT more steady at times.  And need to take better care of the equipment.  Almost like a child now.  *shrugs*

So my look for a camcorder?

1) durable.  2) can accept minidv and/or hd.  3) can accustom to LOW lighting situations without resorting to night shot and/or infrared technology.  4) can record fast, quick motions without going into the "blur" effect.  5) is not over $1000.  Especially #5.  :S  Most of them over that price are also too big, which is... 6) be small enough to fit in pocket.

I'm going to look at some today. :S
